mine:
we went for a walk today, it was really nice weather out (just a bit windy) and it was actually the perfect day for a walk.
after salem yesterday, it is nice to stay close to home, but i’ve been on such a wonky sleep schedule that getting a little physical activity isn’t the worst thing.
also, made a few interesting discoveries in brookline, especially on the cupcake acquisition front. plus, any day that includes a foray into meat house can’t be a bad day at all, right?
tried out the new check deposit online thingie at my bank (it worked)
went to salem, nh today (it was spiffy)
tried to get my brother his birthday present (they were out of stock)
got a fuck yeah!sharks necklace (fuck yeah, it’s awesome)
headlight on my car burned out (fuck)
i’m tired.
i cannot stop listening to this show. it’s ridiculous good, the show was ridiculous good. i’m really surprised i managed to get this awesome an audio record of the show, but we’re lucky. i don’t know what i’d do without it.
every song is awesome, also, i cannot stop listening in the exact order of the show. for once, this is something i don’t skip or shuffle around.
i’m listening in the car, i’m listening at work all day every day, i’m listening at home. i haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the whole show together (from start to finish) yet, but that’s a bit too raw, still.
i’m just really happy we got it downloaded before they pulled it offline. because it’s spectacular.
still, hands down, one of the best evenings of my life.
i can’t get over the concert. that we were there, that it really happened, that it’s all over. luckily, i came across a full audio version of the concert (with a song-by-song breakdown into .mp3 format), and it’s fucking spectacular. it’s all i’ve been listening to.
everything was so good, so unbelievable. and i am so immensely glad that we were there. i never knew that new york could be so fun, really. sure i’ve had at least one other good trip to new york but i never saw anything other than the sony studio and the bus station. it was very cut & dried.
this time, not only was i having SO MUCH FUN in new york, but i was with the boy and it was nice to not be out there alone. and to be with someone who actually wanted to do all the fun things there are to do, you know?
i’ve been listening to the concert on repeat on repeat on repeat…forever. it’s not as great as being there (obviously) but it’s definitely better than nothing.
lcd soundsystem wasn’t always the forefront of what i listen to on a given day (except for around album releases then it’s beat on repeat forever), but i’m realizing how much of an impact they had on my life and just how much i require the music at all times (honestly, lcd sound system fucking REVOLUTIONIZED my gym playlists like you wouldn’t believe…)
and it is sad, and it is overwhelming because despite the fact that james murphy is still around and DFA is still a major force, it’s like i don’t know how to act without the potential of another show, another album. what show are we going to go to and swelter and dance and melt and rock out at next year? is there any comparison?
I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT AROUND!
so, despite getting back from nyc at 10 am on a sunday and subsequently passing out until fucking 4:30 pm (who’s a winner? i am! clearly! ugh…) i had my midterm on sunday.
i finished around 7:30-8 ish. and obviously stopped to have dinner in the middle, which is the best practice you know.
anyway, the electronic grading was BAD. so bad. yuck. i just felt so awful i didn’t even care. what’s the best way to come down from a 112% homework assignment high? BOMB A FUCKING MIDTERM!
and i couldn’t even do anything about it, really. plus i was still numb from the fucking weekend.
flash forward to monday morning, and i get my grade back from the prof. not only did i pass the midterm (didn’t even fall in the failing range!) but i’m carrying a high B for the course so far! huzzah!
also, i’m pretty much breaking any and all curves for my stupid ethics course by getting a solid 100% across the board. the thing is, though, that’s the class i could give a fuck about. so i’m like, oh A+? who gives a shit?
certainly not me!
