seriously, it does.
the one redeeming factor of boston is the proximity & availability of a number of really kick-ass concerts & musical acts. the brief glimpse of spring that was just stolen away by cold, wet, icky muck is forgiven when you get to rock out on a fairly regular basis. my concert-going has doubled on itself since last august and i couldn’t be happier about that. i’m getting to the point where i can’t even keep track of all the shows i’ve gone to, and frankly, i rather enjoy that. even more so, i’ve been lucky enough to see some artists multiple times. and who doesn’t love multiples, really?
yesterday was complete crap.
work was crap, the weather was crap, everything = crap.
and then i went home, possibly got hit on by a rock star (no, not the rockstar), and unwound a bit. i cleaned up, got dressed, shoved a flask of liquor in my bra & went out feeling still like complete crap.
but then something happened… i got to the avalon just as she wants revenge was starting, and despite anxiously awaiting the boy’s arrival, totally rocked out. and they played my favorite song (“out of control”, for those keeping track) right off the bat. yippee! this makes the second time i’ve seen them, and while visibility was much better in this venue, it really was much rowdier & boistrous at the middle east. but it doesn’t matter because i loved it, i loved them, and much rocking out ensued. so much fun, so exactly what i needed. why can’t every night end in a kick-ass concert? why am i not a professional groupie? or you know, musically talented?
and luckily, the boy made it and the rest of the show was awesome. they added some extra players this time, and on the whole i think they were even better than last time. so awesome.
