today was a day of the most fantastical and lovely shenanigans. i don’t think i’ve had a day anywhere near as fantastic in a long time. well, that’s not true. i did have a pretty fun birthday celebration, but that was different. this was completely random, unplanned yet ultimately lovely shenanigans. because it was a bonus in the middle of an otherwise completely shitty week.
instead of being at work, slaving away at a thankless job that is basically a arduous exercise in futility, i was with one of my besties getting a much-coveted set of new tattoos. seriously, i have been pining away for these tattoos for MONTHS now; hell, i have wanted this particular design for little over a year. i mean, i just want more and more tattoos, have since the first one…but that’s just how i operate. i have to agonize and analyze and pine and long and envision and wish. i have to immerse myself in it before i finally take the plunge.
and today, today was the day for new tattoos.
i could honestly not be happier with my tattoos. there is just no way! my artist (murderface) was absolutely fabulous and sweet and talented and i love him to little squishy bits, with love! i cannot believe how fabulous my new tattoos are. how much i love them. how wonderful they look. how i can’t stop staring at them. how i can’t fucking wait to get more.
after the tattooings kristin and i went to motherfuckin’ kelly’s roast beef! i had never been. hell, i had never even heard of kelly’s until roadsteamer brought it up in a song. they just didn’t exist in my world. but, kelly’s is where you go for the land of delicious roast beef, thus we went. also, there were CHEESE FRIES. which were really just, bacon + cheese exploded on the plate.
then, after all the bacon and cheesening in the world, came the greatest craft store ever: michael’s! well, i don’t know if it is really the greatest, but since there isn’t a hobby lobby anywhere in a tri-state area it definitely serves its purpose well. honestly, my kingdom for a hobby fuckin’ lobby. so many pretty, shiny happy things! and i wanted them all! i got some really awesome, really cheap candles for the apartment and FINALLY some frames for the boy for artwork i bought him probably about 2 fuckin’ years ago. seriously, i’ve been looking for the perfect 11″x17″ frames for all of eternity. god bless you, michael’s.
though, going to michael’s is dangerous. i could literally spend all day in a few of those aisles, tossing things into my cart with abandon. i.want.it.all. DO WANT! alas, i had to have some semblance of behavior considering things like bills, or rent. pfffft!
the whole area out there in everett is really teaming with shit that conspires to take my monies away (what little monies i have): michael’s, ulta, bath&body works, old navy, the world’s most giant fucking target ever. it’s a total conspiracy, and i am helpless against it.
especially when it involves really amazingly cute plaid trench coats that fit and i cannot just leave helplessly hanging next to the “college” aisle. really, i couldn’t, that would’ve been tragic.
finally, leaving all the fabulous stores (and my money) behind was not the end of the day. i got home and with kristin’s help started in on a really fun and yummy dinner. honestly, why can’t i just spend my days at home making crafty fun things and cooking delicious foods? i need to start selling drugs to teenage runaways, methinks. something to support my retail therapy habit.
